Mimosa – Albizia julibrissin
The tree originally came from China and is called Tree of Happiness. The aroma is very similar to rose essential oil.
A Chinese native, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the flowers are used in western Herbalism to treat depression, stress and a feel-good that causes mild euphoria and giddiness. Barks heal bone fracture. *
Mimosa is grown in Chinese households mainly it’s a symbol of Harmony and Happiness. Even though it is included in TCM Materia medica, it i not very commonly used in China. It’s very interesting that it’s so widely used here.
